Mosta New Boys' Secondary School - Maria Regina College

Works on the sixth school project undertaken by the Foundation officially started on the 1st September 2008. The design of the school is singular in nature and was entrusted to a local firm of architects who won a design competition awarded through the Contracts Department. The School which is expected to be officially inaugurated in 2011 has 80 rooms which include classes, laboratories, career guidance rooms and administration offices. The school which, also has a library and a hall, is accessible to all. As with all FTS's projects, particular attention is being given on this school to alternative energy solutions. An intelligent lighting system has also been installed with an aim to maximise lighting in the rooms. This system adjusts to natural light and automatically switches off when no people are in the room.  A synthetic turf pitch has been installed during the course of 2011, together with other sports facilities.
